Zip files empty 4f1u11

I am unable to .zip files. it says their ing and they are listed in the file location, but they are empty. they say 0 kb on the files. using version 2.5 700 build with mozilla. what do i do and what settings do i need to get it to work properly? does it matter if their ziped video files?
