BitTorrent controls... 9r66

sebii » Sat Nov 08, 2008 11:09 pm

Hi all! Just curious if anyone knew how to, when ing a torrent, stop FDM from ing specific files in that torrent. I have managed to find a file list in the torrent and the individual progress, but I can't figure out how to stop FDM D/L specific files yet.

Cheers,
Seb

Alex, please, improve in next version to allow file choosing by FDM, it would be very useful!

You can already choose files from torrent in two ways:

1. In the bottom click "Bittorrent" tab, then click "Files" sub-tab. Go to file that you want to skip, right click its name and from the context menu choose "Don't ".

2. In the top right click torrent on the list, choose " properties" from the context menu, go to "Files" tab in the dialog window and unmark files/subdirectories you want to skip.

You have properties for standard , which means you have installed FDM without bittorrent . Have you marked "Enable BitTorrent protocol " in FDM menu Options | Settings | BitTorrent?
Or maybe you have very old FDM version or your OS is some Windows 9x. You should always tell about your software and OS version.

Did you install any other p2p or manager? Or did you install Opera browser? Did you try to reinstall FDM as ?

Yes I have tried all suggestions without success.
I have FDM installed as and have BT protocol enabled.

***Update***

I do not know the reason why as I have not changed a single thing, but now for some reason FDM is behaving as it should. Wish I could be more help in knowing why I had problems before as it may be useful to you but i'm afraid i'm at a loss to explain why all of a sudden it is working properly.

Thank you for your help. :D

of course, I marked bittorent option:

firstly, I has installed FDM without bittorrent , but I've ed Bittorrent plugin apart, because I don't need other options like Video Conversion plugin, Languages pack...
no, I have the last FDM version, even if it's lite and my OS is Windows XP SP1

The last lite version is FDM 3.0.852, and now we have FDM 3.5. You should clearly explain what version of FDM and fdmbtsupp.dll you have installed, as outdated libs may not work with FDM 3.5.

The simplest solution for you is to and install full FDM 3.5. If bittorrent works, you can remove unneeded files from FDM install folder.

I can't help you more with your outdated system. You may have many malware apps in your system that may block your software, and MSVC runtime libraries may require some system functions that come only with Windows Update.

I use FDM 3.0 build 852, about fdmbtsupp.dll can't say anything definitely, cause in those file, where it must be file version it's just clear
and here says that last available version is 3.0 build 852
even if install full FDM, I don't know what unneeded files to remove (but anyway I don't know whence to FDM 3.5 and don't want to install full)
when will be released FDM Lite ver. 3.5?
bittorrent works, cause I installed bittorrent , I already explained

p.s. by the way, how to disable link capturing, if I want to file by IE?
