How to add FDM to Firefox based browsers 29164f

drkdfndr » Mon Nov 04, 2013 6:39 pm

Hello,
Is there a way to add the FDM add on to Firefox based browsers like Waterfox, Palemoon, Comodo Ice Dragon?
Since almost all add-on's that work on firefox work also on other firefox based browsers I am guessing there should be a way!

You should the developers of those broswers and ask them how to get FDM to work with their browser as well. Based doesn't mean it is compatible with FDM. Also why don't you just use FF for your broswer is there a reason why you can't?

These broswers have some advantages over basic Firefox, which can be read about on their respective websites.

Yes I know about flash got. But I was trying to use the actual FDM add on.
Since it is an add on and not a plugin, and most add-ons are compatible with firefox based browsers, I wonder if there is a way to install the add-on into those browsers.

I am using Pale Moon, and the reason I prefer it over the original FF, is because I am not a big adept of Australis!

But they aren't ed properly that is maybe another reason it doesn't work. Having some advantages doesn't make the browser something everyone will use. So going alt browser will give the big disadvantage that it will not be by the developers so that will lead the alt browser to dangle in the wind and miss out on important updated/plugins as well regardless of what is mention on their websites. FF isn't the single best browser but compliments IE when certain sites are written for either IE or IE/FF engine so if those other alt browser makes any changes to how it was standardized then they will not properly work with the plugin for IE/FF.

Problem being if Pale Moon isn't by the independent plugin programmers it won't make any head wind again FF or IE to start and thus will mean limited plugins to work with alt browsers to start with. And does it really matter where FF is created or runs from it based on accepted s of browser to set standards and update those standards to meet today high demand internet not a few alt browser that is used by small groups. That is the problem those small usage groups must over come become before it get accepted and most likely FF/IE will get those updates as well and then what will those alt browser say they have advantage over then??? IE/FF gets updates and newer versions come up or updates the current browser so any other alt browser feature if popular or have usefulness will get into IE/FF thus rendering alt browser to the sideline again. So they might have something you like but IE/FF will get those if they are useful feature on their browser as well. One needs to take a bigger context of the browser picture into discussion when using such alt browsers.

There's a forum post on palemoon's site which explains how to add FDM to palemoon:
