Should browser be closed when changing settings? Or restart 4p482r
Assume I want to change the FDM settings.
Is it required to closed browsers (Firefox and IntExp) BEFORE I perform the change
or is a restart AFTERWARDS sufficient?

It depends on settings you want to change.
Browser restart may be needed for any change in FDM integration with browsers or system, f.e. in sections:
- Bittorrent (association for .torrent extension and for magnet links);
- Monitoring;
- Flash Video.
Some changes may be blocked by other software run when the browser is open (firewall, internet security suite, antivirus software, other breowser add-ons etc.), so it is always better to configure FDM with browsers closed.
Some changes (f.e. in system associations) require privileges. If you have turned off UAC you must run FDM as to do such changes effective.
