Re: FDM 3.5 Release Candidate r4o3y
I am wondering when the 3.5 final release will be available. Thank you.
Re: FDM 3.5 Release Candidate r4o3y
I have some problem with FDM. In windows explorer when i double clicking a mp3 file, the default action is enqueue in winamp. But when i launch a mp3 file from FDM, the action is not enqueue but opening the file. It makes my previous play list in winamp cleared and just show the mp3 file that i launched from FDM.
The filter "In progress" and "Stopped" I think is not effective, why didn't merge both filter in just one filter ?? I often file that consist of some part. I think it will get more easy to manage the file when that filter is merged

Unfortunately, as far as I know, the current RC of fdm doesn't backup your /history items. I lost a week's worth of history myself once along with my rather extensive lists of schedules and sites. Here's a solution to safeguard against any future loss.
I have a portable install of fdm. It stores all your vital settings/ history/schedules/sites lists in its Data subfolder. Just back up that folder periodically to insure against any further data loss. An easy way to do that is to create an archive script. If you use winrar and need any help, just ask.

I checked some weeks before that cleaning FDM folders and didn't find any storage of history, can you be more explicit, please?

I have never had FDM installed on my system, I only use it as a portable app in which case it stores all its settings in the app folder i.e. the root folder it runs from. I guess if you have it properly installed then your history and other crucial files would probably be in your application data folder. So to elaborate my earlier comment, if FDM is being run as a portable app, then all of its program settings files... schedules, s/history, per-site settings/s will be stored in the Data subfolder e.g. If FDM is portably installed in C:\Free Manager , then its settings can be found in C:\Free Manager\Data .
I have XP so if you run XP and have properly installed FDM, then try this. Search for s.his.sav in your C:\Documents and Settings folder, in the search results if s.his.sav shows up, right click and choose "open containing folder" , that will be where FDM stores your history.
Do ask if its still unclear. Also if you need help to back it up with winrar, then you'll need to use short filenames.

Here - FDM 3.5 RC

Usually here - C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Free Manager\
Re: FDM 3.5 Release Candidate r4o3y
stfly, reh4, I found it here C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Free Manager\
but why most of stored files are hidden?
and how I can restore torrents seeding for needful s? I opened a file s.sav (alternative link, file will be stored 30 days) with Notepad, but there isn't any records about what I have been seed, I've see just a kind of unreadable rubbish

Re: FDM 3.5 Release Candidate r4o3y
Because they are FDM service files. Search forum for other topics on service files.Graf wrote:stfly, reh4, I found it here C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Free Manager\

They are binary files. Now you should understand why they are hidden.Graf wrote:I opened a file s.sav (alternative link, file will be stored 30 days) with Notepad, but there isn't any records about what I have been seed, I've see just a kind of unreadable rubbish![]()

@Graf, I believe FDM is primarily a HTTP,HTTPS and FTP er with torrent and site ers built-in as a stop-gap measure i.e. to be used as a quick alternative to proper dedicated torrent or site ers. There is no "Jack of all Trades" when it comes to software.
I would suggest using a proper torrent client like utorrent, it can be ed from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/utorrent_portable . I'm positive its much better suited for dedicated torrent seeding etc and its very resource friendly as well.
