FDM not working in IE11 since update from MS 12AUG2014 i1tw

IDM is working perfect but would rather be using FDM and will be when a fix has been issued.

FYI IDM isn't free so this is for FDM discussion if you want to use IDM go right ahead and the rest of us will wait for a fix or use FF with FDM til a IE fix is done.

no kidding it isn't free! I tried it to see if it had the same problem as FDM! If you read I also said I'd rather use FDM! FDM is much better!

For information, it does not work with Windows 8 x64 Enterprise with IE10 (it works in july), but works with Chrome on the same machine.
It seems too that IE detects that the add ins takes too much time and propose to desactivate it, the question is often missed and the defaut choice is to disable ! But even, after reactivating it, and reinstall the last version, IE does not work with intercepting the , but the right button continues to work.

So far that is the approach at this time to take or copy and paste the link to FDM to . Til IE is fixed for breaking the plugin or FDM makes a newer version to address this problem FireFox is the browser to use currently that still works. I have FF32 and still works with FDM.

1. I have mentioned that MS recommends to uninstall KB2982791 - it's for gdi32.dll and win32k.sys (kernel mode drivers ). This update may cause blue screens on the system start (win32k.sys) or some general display problems (gdi32.dll).
2. MS recommends to uninstall also KB2970228 (Windows 7), KB2975331 (Windows or
KB2975719 (Windows 8.1). These updates break OTF font and cause IE hangs or crashes:

As soon as I uninstalled KB2982791 and KB2975719 from My W8.1 computer all the issues stopped, IE worked as well as it ever does and all display issues cleared up. The same behaviour has happened when I uninstalled KB2982791 on 2 windows 7 computers.

So please, do uninstall these updates and report if FDM works OK after that.

Looks like even IE9 has the same problem!

I do have both KB2982791 and KB2970228 installed. I will uninstall them and let you know!

I do have both KB2982791 and KB2970228 installed. I will uninstall them and let you know!

No... After having removed both and restarted my Seven I cannot use FDM, tested with http://www.nirsoft.net/packages/systools.zip
The same link on a virtual WinXP with IE8 and the same FDM is working!

WinUpdate proposed to install just the above 2993651, done, restarted and retested: no way... FDM isn't working...

I have read this viewtopic.php?p=39213#p39213 about KB2976627 and will try to remove this one too (but it's correcting huge bugs! )

YES!!! Removing KB2976627 lets FDM works again! Now you just have to understood how to modify FDM to be KB2976627's complaint...

MS Patchday September 9, 2014 (MS14-0529,
solves FDM IE Monitoring issue!
FDM works fine like before MS Patchday August 12, 2014!

I concur with the latest IE11 update it fixes the FDM problem. So any other s having IE11 and Windows 7 your latest Tuesday batch update and use IE11 again with FDM.

Me too... Win 7 x64, the latest update has things working properly again and I'm a happy camper too.
