How does FDM determine what the default folder is?

I was very disappointed when the option was for this was removed.

I thought that perhaps if I changed the Win 10 default folder location, and deleted the old default folder at C:\s\mr\s, FDM might follow that.

But instead, FDM creates a new folder at C:\s\mr\s.

Will we ever get autonomy back for this?

How did you change the folder location? Locally in your browser only or globally in File Explorer? Did you close FDM before the change?

I manually changed the Windows 10 default global folder, from the one FDM automatically insists upon, to a location of my choosing.

I always set my browser's default folder, and then alter the setting to "Always ask". This way, the first fodder option that comes up is the default folder of my choice, and I have the option to change it for a given .

Example:



I just closed FDM, changed both global and browser folder options back to default, and then back again to my preferred custom settings. FDM still will only give the original Windows 10 default folder location as the first optionj, and create it if it does not already exist.

Yeah, sorry, that's my fault. I meant the system tray icon. Click it once, it opens. Click it again, it doesn't close, the title bar just blinks. Can't seem to close it with double click or anything from the system tray icon.

And what about updating language files? Four pull requests stuck in the queue…

Sorry, I can't answer this question. But, FDM6 is our main goal. It should kick both FDM3 and FDM5 (I hope). FDM6 does not language files currently. We plan to add this as soon as it gets mature.

I'm talking about pull requests on Github. There are almost complete and of good quality translations for FDM 5.1 there. They should replace horrible automatic translation provided for unkown reasons (to make laugh or to be nominated to The Hall of Shame maybe?) by FDM team and they should be reused in FDM 6 in the future. If you add them now, other s will be able to add missing strings of translation and improve existing ones.

Some good willing person finally updated language translation files on github, but where are updated FDM5 installers containing these translations?

I'm afraid there won't be any update for FDM 5.1. Making screenshots is a waste of time, missing strings have been reported more than once with no result.
