buttons above/below videos? n1l4z
There used to be a feature where (if possible) an FDA icon would appear just above and below a running video. It was very handy for automatically grabbing a video, without needing some *OTHER* odd tool, to figure out what the URL of the video was.
This has been gone for a while, and I have no idea why. I miss it.
As it is I have to use TWO tools; FDM to get my files rapidly with really good file resume. AND an **OLD** version of HELPER (4.9.24). This older version lets me grab the URL of any video that is running.
*** AND A WARNING ***
If you use HELPER, do *not* let it update to 5.1
The update to 5.1 is a total change, and it looses nearly all of the previous functions of the addon.
You guys need a BROWSER PLUGIN that cooperates with the FDM application, so that FDM can act the way its used to (snagging the media that the browser is currently playing). The trouble is that these days, there are so many heavily nested sites, with links to other links, that the CANNOT know where the actual file they want to grab is.
It used to work that way (FDM logo image sitting over and under the file that was playing) ... but it doesn't do that now days, which makes grabbing a file nearly impossible without extra tools.

Have you tried FDM 3.9.5? Could you follow the reporting rules and provide more details, please? What OS, what browser, what FDM version, what sites, what " Helper"?

While we were experimenting with this issue, we turned off flash video monitoring by default for new installations. Please update to the latest FDM 3.9.5 and then check Settings > s > Video monitoring.
There is one option for YouTube videos (works only in IE & Firefox, but you can use drag & drop from any browser). And another option for Flash video s - now it's turned off by default.
It you won't see that button after that, please let us know; provide your OS, browser name & version, and sample URLs.
