different Save behaviour for Chrome and FF add-ons? 5ya1z

2007 » Sun Jan 22, 2023 8:00 pm

hello,

I was looking for a tool allowing me to save a file (such as an image opened in a browser window) by simply pressing Ctrl-S, w/o answering the Save As question. From the add-on description, FDM could do just that. For me, it only works this way on Chrome but it still pops the Save As prompt under Firefox. Please advise how to skip the prompt

using the latest stable versions for all browsers on W10 x64

thanks!

Hello,
Firefox add-on works worse because of Firefox browser's flaw. This can't be fixed on our side.

This should be reported to bugzilla.mozilla.org, maybe you need to look for MDN Web Docs if you need some help.

Problems with WebExtensions API were reported long time ago:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1245652
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1245652#c9
They are described also in FDM FAQ:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11665&start=15#p44157

Maybe you know some workarounds?
