FDM won't launch ed video files associated with VLC 5xr2q

When I use the 'Add ' dialogue box to chose to save and open a video file associated with Video LAN Client or from the progress window's launch check box. It also does not launch from the history folder.

If launched in Windows Explorer or other programs the file association works and the files are complete and playable.

Video files I use Media Player Classic to play from file association launch from FDM no problem.

I checked out the VLC forums and they don't have this problem reoccurring with any other program I can find.

I have had this problem from the launch of one of the first versions of FDM 2.5 released (I didn't update to it right away so it wasn't the very first build).

I am using 2.5 build 747.
I am using XP Home SP2 fully patched
Opera 9.25 is my browser
VLC 8.6d is my main video media player
WinAmp 5.52 is my main audio player
The majority of my remaining media files are played in Media Player Classic with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack

I have a AMD 64 x2 dual core computer with 4 GB of DDR2 6400 RAM
250 GB HDD with a 2 GB Swap file. Nvidia 7300 Video Card. Built in SoundMaxHD audio with crippled drivers. ASUS M2n-E Mobo.
