Hey FDM community and developers,
I've been using FDM for a long time and have some ideas to make it even better. While I appreciate the new design efforts, I believe focusing on enhancing the existing interface and adding smart features would be more beneficial.
Why focus on the old design?
* Efficiency: Tweaking the current design is faster than building a completely new one, allowing developers to concentrate on core functionalities.
* Stability: A new design often introduces bugs and requires significant debugging, diverting resources.
Here are my key suggestions for FDM's next version:
1. Enhanced File Security:
* Add a "Virus Scan" button for individual files within the UI.
* Implement an option to send file hashes to VirusTotal for quick security checks.
2. Improved BitTorrent Functionality:
* Allow s to select and automatically update tracker lists directly within FDM.
3. Automated File Integrity Checks:
* Automatically file integrity by comparing ed file hashes with those available on the source website.
4. Smart File Management & Storage Optimization:
* Implement a local file hash table to prevent redundant s, saving bandwidth and disk space through junction links and reduce SSD wearing. This could significantly reduce costs for large organizations and benefit individual s.
5. UX Enhancements for the Saving Dialogue:
* Introduce a breadcrumb similar to Windows 11 Explorer for quick folder selection.
* Integrate Listary-like features: favorites, automatic folder switching, and advanced file naming options (date, suffix, prefix).
* Implement an AI model that does basic file organization, tagging, etc.

Think about it:
* Imagine quickly navigating to your desired folder with a breadcrumb, with pinned favorites and some features that are part of Listary.
* Picture FDM automatically ing your s' integrity.
* Imagine FDM preventing you from ing the same file twice.
These enhancements would make FDM more efficient, secure, and -friendly.
Let's discuss these ideas and work together to make FDM the best manager out there!
What do you think? Which of these features would you find most useful?
Let's make FDM even better!
