Advanced Traffic Limits 503g5y

Fr0stmatic » Wed May 15, 2024 8:57 pm

I'd like to request more limits of speeds and connection numbers per indivdual servers/domains in exceptions list format.
For example:
sourceforge.net - 512 KB/s - unlimited connections
fosshub.net - 2048 KB/s - 4 connections
*urleecher.com - unlimited speed - 2 connections

Oooh, I like this idea - server-specific traffic limits.

@Alex - this could (and should) be expanded to allowing other 'server-specific' parameters as well - where to save files, ... in fact, every single option that would be applicable:

Compact view
Standalone DL windows
Server time

Browser integration features:
Skip domains and file extensions
size limit

Even Proxy settings, and more.

That would make it super powerful, and really help extend features to things like video sites and such, allowing individualized parameters on a per-server basis, making life a ton easier.

Of course, I know, this is a ton of programming to really re-work the way that FDM works, I get that. But, if it is doable without a full re-write, I for one would love to see this, even if it is just limited to Traffic parameters (though I'd prefer to se it extended as I've described above).

Perhaps if not now, then for the next major version (V7 / whatever the next ver will be)?
