We are pleased to announce that the new 2.5 version of Free Manager has been released.
What's new in version 2.5 build 700:
[+] s: easy way to share your files.
[+] Portable mode
[+] Bittorrent protocol
[+] Flash video s (e.g. from youtube.com site)
[+] Audio/video files converter
[+] Metalink
[+] Ability to the last used folder for storing s
[+] Macroses for specifying the output folder for s
[+] Site Explorer: Progress of building of the list of files
[+] Option to disable notifications for batch s
[+] Ability to specify the list of sites that should not be monitored
[+] Automatic integrity check of ed file
[+] Take proxy settings from Firefox browser
[+] Sub groups
[+] "Grant all bandwidth for this " feature
[+] Ability to change the folder for storing FDM's data files.
[+] Some small improvements and changes
[*] Multilanguage : you may choose most suitable interface language at the installation.
[*] Speedup of work with the large lists of s
[*] Keep the video aspect ratio in media preview
[*] Interface improvements

[-] Senseless loop, if zip preview failed

No mention of metalink in the features tho? That would be nice.
2.5 seems great, this version went through a lot of testing.
I'm sure many people will be ecstatic that FDM is open source now!

One question - is it better to install v.2.5 over an existing version (i.e. 2.1 build 493) or better to uninstall the old version and then install v.2.5?

I was happily surprised to see that FDM 2.5 was released under GNU General Public License.

Maybe it would help developing a Linux version, that would be great!

FDM has been updated to build 703.
Changes:
[+] Indication of the process of reserving of disk space for file (useful for large s)
[-] Sometimes files may be damaged (last byte was 0).
[-] Some bugs when ing files > 2GB.
